Orange and black
This was a spur of the moment look. It was quick and easy. I like to match my looks with my outfit.
I'm one of those people who waits until the morning to know what to wear. I look at the weather channel and dress accordingly.
The lipstick has become my new favorite. WetnWild is inexpensive. The persimmons is a nice orange for me.

Smokey Day
When wearing all black, a smokey eye adds to the mysterious sexy appeal. There is just something about a woman in black. A smokey eye adds to that allure. Eyelashes are a must with any smokey eye look. I was feeling sexy today so I decided to pair it with a sexy eye look.
I didnt wear foundation today. The idea of wearing foundation is great, but I never have time to put it on. The foundation color match is an added problem. That is a whole other story.
I've been keeping it simple with the eye only looks. A dramatic eye and lipstick. Facial flaws don't bother me at the moment.

It was nice outside
I decided to put on a full face of Revlon Colorstay. It definitely has full coverage. I know now that look doesn't sit well with me. I don't need full coverage unless I'm going to do some sort of photoshoot. I ended up taking some of it off for a medium coverage. I was told I look plastic. Yea. I won't do the full face foundation with Revlon again. I usually just use it to touch up my looks. I will stick to that or full face with my Nars.

Learning your eyes

The first lesson I had to learn is you can't do what other people do. When you put on eye shadow you have do it according to you eyes. Different people have different shaped eyes. That means you have to do different things when you apply the shadow. I have deep set, wide, hooded eyes. I can't do a lot of looks that other people do without looking crazy. LOL!
You have to learn what works best for your eyes. Here is a video that shows a little about finding and figuring out where things are on your eye. I love watching his videos.

Revlon steals photos off the net?!?!?
Okay! So since when was it okay to steal someone's photos to create pamphlets. Revlon's products Sinful Colors has stolen other blogger's pics off the internet and then passed it off as their own. They even had elaborate descriptions of how to create the designs though the blogger who actually created the designed said different. Just goes to show... You can't believe everything you see on the internet.

Black and White
I wore foundation to work with this. Since it is summer I had to go with my darker foundations. I have a lot of darker color foundations to work with so it came out a lot cleaner.
I didn't wear any lipstick to work with this because I usually talk all class period and it comes off before the end of the class.
I used Tako from my Sweetheart SugarPill palette. The black is Wet N Wild panther. If you blend those well you get the gray matte looking color. I can't for the life of me find a good matte gray. I blended the Tako all the way up very lightly for a brighter highlight.

Gold: Blue or Green
I've been trying out some colors lately to see what works well. Part of doing makeup is understanding how colors work in order to blend them.... here is my blue vs green when mixed with gold. I don't know but my boyfriend prefers the green what do you think?
Here is the blue side. I used the Wet n Wild palette "I Got Good Jeans." I went over the top of the gold with the Mehron metallic gold pigment. I mixed in some of the blue from the SugarPill Sweetheart palette to make it a true blue color.
Here is the green side. I used the same golds for this side but I opted for the Coastal Scents 88 palette for the greens. I mixed in some of the green from the SugarPill Sweetheart palette
Acne Scarring

I have acne scars. Since I've moved to Texas I have battled with scarring. Texas must have the worst water I've ever lived with. My face just can't tolerate all of this hard water not to mention my hair situation.
The best products to use for acne scars is lemon juice and alpha hydroxy acid. Apply lemon juice with a cotton ball after washing your face. Leave on for 10min then wash off and apply alpha hydroxy cream. Do this only at night. Remember to use sunblock during the day.
I'm going to try this and let you know what I think. Just give me some time.

Not too long ago, I blogged about Kim Kardashian and her Spanx wearing self. Then she went around denying that she wore them! What is there to be ashamed of Kim?

Not all women have the ability to look perfect and if they say they do they are lying. There is no women on earth that doesn't envy something some other woman has on her body. That doesn't take away from us loving the way we look.
But HA! I knew she wore Spanx and let this be a lesson to all women. There is nothing wrong with a little nonsurgical alterations every once and a while.

No to Car makeup application

In class discussion yesterday, one of my students commented on the idea of women applying makeup in the car. This is such a dangerous idea. There are hundred of car accidents caused each year from women still doing it knowing the consequences.
Makeup is not that serious. Never put on makeup while actually driving. I have applied lipstick when stuck at a red light. Nothing else is really necessary.
My looks aren't so serious that I would apply anything while driving down the street. If I need to put on makeup, I get up a lot earlier in the morning.

When I moved to Texas, baby.... this Texas water is KILLER on the skin. I look like a teenager again with all of the blemishes I have.
I have gone through so much foundation it's amazing. I have shades way too light to way to dark and everything in between. I have a couple of foundations that are right on target. Here is a video that shares some incite on what you should and shouldn't do when looking for foundation.
